Me & my story...
When I was a child, my beloved grandmother always told me to save money. She said it didn’t matter how much it was as long as I saved something. That lesson was ingrained in me at a very young age, and I never forgot it. While growing up, I consistently saved money, but it wasn’t until about five years ago when I realized that merely saving wasn't enough.
I longed for financial freedom. I wanted the capability to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I realized that I needed to learn how to make my money work for me. I needed to become financially literate. At first, delving into the world of stocks was overwhelming, but after many hours of reading, listening and learning...eventually, everything began to fall into place.
After gathering information, I raised my 401k contributions, began investing in my ROTH IRA and HSA as well as putting money into CDs. I also started making additional principal payments on my mortgage.
While I saw many of my friends buying shiny new cars, I kept driving my dependable 2004 model and I'm still driving it! I observed them relishing the latest gadgets, yet I remained committed to my quest for financial independence. My future wealth took precedence over everything else.
Now, I feel a sense of relief knowing my financial future is secure. I work because I want to, not out of necessity. I am completely debt-free, with no credit card bills, car loans, or mortgage responsibilities. California property taxes are crazy high and present a challenge, but I know how to budget, so they aren’t a major concern—just an inconvenience.
I realize that what appears relatively easy for me is not as easy for others. So many people are struggling with their financial situations, living from paycheck to paycheck and finding themselves deeply in debt. Some simply need a bit of guidance; they recognize the importance of saving but struggle to find a way to do it.
Much like those on a fitness journey. They know they should eat less and exercise more, but find it challenging to stay motivated, so they look for guidance and the support of a personal trainer to help them achieve their fitness goals.
That’s where I step in!
I am your Financial Coach, here to guide and motivate you towards financial freedom so that you can attain the financial goals you desire and live happily ever after...

The beginning of my Financial Fairytale

I became a mother at a young age and raised my child as a single parent. While I had help from my grandmother and his grandmother, the responsibility ultimately fell on me as a young mom.
When my baby was around nine months old, he was accepted into a talent agency. He did some modeling and even booked a few national commercials. At just nineteen years old, I found myself a "MOM-AGER". He was paid well, receiving residuals each time a commercial aired. He even claimed me as a dependent on his taxes! After the agency took their 10% commission, they sent the remaining payments directly to me. It was important that I learn how to budget and manage this new income.
A woman once mentioned the idea of Savings Bonds, so I looked into it. From that point on, every time I received a check from the talent agency, I took half and purchased Savings Bonds. Over time, I accumulated about $25,000 in bonds- an incredible accomplishment for a young single mother. They took about fourteen years to mature to face value, but knowing that money was safely set aside always gave a sense of security.
Years later, I got married, but unfortunately, that marriage ended in divorce. So, there I was, in my 40's, starting over. Thankfully, my saving habits never changed. Even though the divorce was emotionally and financially difficult- especially with those attorney fees, I worked hard, stayed focused and took care of my financial responsibilities.
Like many of you, I've faced my share of challenges. Life hasn't always been a fairytale, but I made it to the other side and you can too!
I'm living proof that with strong money-management skills, you can rebuild, regain stability and step into the life you desire and deserve....Your own personal version of "Happily Ever After"
